To be a role model primary care physician, educator and provider of care for patients throughout the health care delivery network of WESTERNU Health, and to teach osteopathic primary care medicine to COMP and WESTERNU students.

The Mission of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) is to prepare students to become technically competent, culturally sensitive, professional and compassionate physicians who are life long learners and will serve society by providing comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare with the distinctive osteopathic philosophy. This is accomplished through excellence in curriculum, translational research, service and osteopathic clinical practice.

Clinic Practice. Provides appropriate osteopathic primary medical care for patients through the WESTERNU medical centers or affiliated medical programs as directed by the Chief Medical Officer. The physician will be required to provide his/her fair proportional share of after hours call and any extended hours that are determined to be necessary for the effective operations of WESTERNU medical care facilities, including weekends and holidays

Clinical Teaching Responsibilities. Teach through instruction, supervision and role modeling, the skills, values and attitudes identified by the WESTERNU/COMP Department of Family Medicine as necessary and appropriate to be good osteopathic primary care physicians. Teaching responsibilities may include but are not limited to precepting WESTERNU students of all programs on clinical rotations as well as assignments deemed appropriate by the COMP Department of Family Medicine and the Dean of COMP.

Administrative Duties. Perform administrative duties associated with the responsibilities listed above, including supervision of physician assistants (PA’s) or other physician extenders.


Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1. Able and willing to practice the full scope of primary care medicine as defined by current WesternU Health Medical Center policies and practices.

2. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

3. EDUCATION: DO or MD degree. Residency trained and Board Certified in Family Medicine.

4. EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years experience in Family Medicine.

5. LICENSURE: Unrestricted California State license. Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency certificate.

Preference will be given to individuals who possess bilingual capabilities, have additional advanced degrees and clinical research experience.

Monday-Friday, normal business hours. Will share in on-call after hours coverage.
